Welcome to Zilli Fish

Refurbished in warm tans and browns the restaurant has a back banquet section that is perfect for a semi-private party with tablecloths and candles.

With doors opening up onto the street the restaurant has a fresh feel that is perfect for Summer days or Winter nights. As a fish restaurant we are always aware of the importance of quality ingredients and we buy all of our fish directly from Billingsgate fish market to ensure that we serve the freshest fish possible. To the best of our knowledge we only use fish obtained from sustainable sources.

The Fantastic Food Show

I can’t believe the summer has suddenly arrived in the last 24 hours! It’s so hot now in London I feel really overdressed. So, shorts and t-shirt time for me and on my way to get some food for my Barbie tonight! But before I do that, let’s just reflect on the weekend... Well, Saturday morning I got asked to go to Sky News and do an interview about Chelsea in the Champion’s League Final... I actually managed to predict the score! Then I travelled to Preston to see my fellow chef, Nigel Haworth, and Neil Nugent from Morrison’s for the Fantastic Food Show on Sunday. I stayed in a lovely hotel called Northcote. When I arrived at around 6pm I was taken to Nigel’s pub... well, one of them... for dinner with Matthew Fort and Tom Parker Bowles, a Tottenham supporter I might add! As my fish and chips arrived, the match was ready for kick-off! We went through to a private room with a big screen to watch it. Well, to say ‘stress city’ would be an understatement! Nothing could have prepared me for the next 120 minutes of football! My God, the last time I was so excited was when Italy beat France in the World Cup on penalties! Staying sober was the only difference but I must admit I preferred it. And the rest, as they say, is history! Afterwards, I went back to my hotel with Neil and his lovely son for a night cap... Or shall I say a camomile tea! Then, at 1am the BBC called me to go to Manchester in the morning for breakfast news. Well, luckily, I was only 30 minutes away from there so I agreed to do it, despite pick up being at 6.30am! When I got there, I loved the new offices in Manchester, so no doubt I will go back. Once my interview about Chelsea was done, I headed off to the Fantastic Food Show at Blackburn Football Club where I met up with Atul Kochhar (@atulkochhar), my favourite Indian chef, Nigel Haworth (@NigelHaworth), Tom Parker Bowles and Matthew Fort, where we all did some fantastic demos on the football pitch, especially with the Weber BBQs. After all of that, it was home time for me. So far this week it’s been manic and it’s not about to get any better but I can’t fill you in just yet... I had a lovely lunch at Prezzo (@loveprezzo) yesterday in Haverstock Hill... al fresco! Great food and fab company with the wonderful Jonathan Kaye. Watch this space! Ciao.
